to the 5th Annual Miles for Food website.
For
years now our small field of participants continue to show that
when it comes to food drives - quality entrants trumps quantity
any day! And Miles for Food teams/entrants are hands
down the absolute best quality you can find!
2010 was our fourth season and yet again - we smashed, I mean
smashed the prior years record. Now keep in mind that 2009
event yielded an unprecedented donation to Operation Food Search
making our event their highest volume, single day food drive in
their organizations history. That donation was valued at
$21,662.25. Our 2010 donation value was......
$40,625.59

Annual Miles for Food
ATTENTION
ENTRANTS!!! ****2011 Team Fundraising Format has Changed****
The original minimums of $750.00 and 1,250 can food items have
changed. We are now going to a single system based on
points. This will greatly simplify the tally systems.
Here is the new format:
1 Food Item = 1pt
1 Dollar = 1pt.
3,000 is the minimum number of point needed for teams to participate
on event day
Teams decide individually how to reach the minimum requirements -
cash/cans or a combination.

Race Starts 9:00AM
Cut off 6 hours
Check-in and donation drop time 7:15AM - 8:30AM in the first
parking lot west of the bridge once entering RT 66 State Park.
Fundraising Award Ceremony at 8:45AM.
Individual Prizes for: ***Top Fundraiser*** & ***Top Can Food
Items Collected****
Team Prize: Prizes will be awarded
to the team that completes the most miles on event day.
Mileage prizes will be given directly after the field closes or after
the last team completes their designated mileage - which ever
comes first. Team members must be present to collect a
prize.
Course will consist of two interwoven loops. Smaller loop 1.9
miles. Larger loop 3.1 miles for a combined total of 5 miles. Two aid stations will be set up
on the loops. Distance between aid stations will not exceed 2.1
miles. Participants work on an honor system when covering
their mileage. They are responsible for knowing how many
loops will be required to fulfill their goal. Miles for
Food does not track mileage or time for the various teams. This course
is not certified and as such not a qualifying event.
Aid stations will have water and Gatorade. Miles for Food T-shirt given to all participants.
Post-event snacks provided.
